After having reviewed the series of DVDs offered by Claude Johnson, along with the claims of his website, as well as interviews with a few of his previous clients, it's our belief not only does Johnson deliver, both in quality and guarantees of teaching the most basic beginner the art of serious guitar playing, but he delivers a rare gift to those passionate about music.
Despite negative press several years ago, and specifically those claims of the entire collection not delivering as promised, it's our belief those claims simply don't hold a tune. With the time and energy that's dedicated to this collection, the fact is one can't walk away without feeling as though they're taking a bit of Johnson's passion along with them. In a world of instant press, courtesy of ever-evolving technological advances, the one tragedy is the ability of a few less than complimentary comments causing far more damage than even the author of such negative press could have anticipated.
After having investigated claims of guarantees not kept and promises not delivered, the rampant negativity, though it possibly held merit to some degree, simply comes across as unjust. It's this reviewer's opinion a combination of talent and a genuine passion for teaching the art of guitar playing is Johnson's driving force. Our Claude Johnson guitar review simply can't find anything less; further, these lessons are delivered in an humble and honest fashion. It's both vulnerable and powerful at the same time.
We don't know what happened that led to the negative comments that could have destroyed a man's mission; but we do know that it would be nothing short of shameful had that happened. We're sure his huge following agrees. Clearly, with the variety of DVDs, created to cover any player's level of expertise, the art of musical ability shines through and we confidently concur with what so many already know: Johnson is the go-to man for any of us wishing to pursue that dream.

Exactly I totally agree! Anyone who claims that you can learn to play an instrument in "record time" IS LYING. Have you ever ran a mile? Do you know how hard it is? Have you ever tried to speak japanese fluently? its hard isn't it? WELL! DUH! Don't be stupid! No one can teach you to play a guitar in JUST 15 minutes. BULL S***! I've played the flute for 6 years and the piano for 1 and my mother has been a harpist for 50 years. Its hard and confusing and thats just life! Suck it up! Its gonna be hard and its gonna take LONG HARD PRACTICE for years to get good. Not EVERYONE could be a rock star. AND IF THEY COULD, no one would be famous because everyone would be so good! So nothing else would matter. It wouldn't be intersting anymore. And those videos would WORK. But they don't. And thats WHY we have a few rock bands that every once in a while get recognized because they stand out from the crowd. THATS how you become a rock star! You gotta work and be differnt! Do something no ones done. Thats what draws peoples attention. This crap. PLEASE don't buy into it. You will be sorry! Honestly, you wanna get good? Then go buy yourself a guitar! Look at youtube for help. Get a couple private lessons (not a lot or a lot if you prefer) and just mess around. See what noise makes what when you press which string. THATS how great songs were made. Don't listen to people who make big claims. It almost never works and you lose your HARD EARNED money you could have spent on something else!
Be very careful when buying anything from Claude Johnson. I bought his advanced blues DVD's, and they were ok, nothing special but I learned a few things, but nothing I couldn't have learned from free videos on Youtube. What pissed me off was that a month after I bought them there was another charge fro 19.95 on my credit card. It turns out when you buy anything from Claude Johnson he automaticaly gives you membership in something called the 'Guitar God Club' without asking if you want it and then starts charging you for it. You have to go to the site and cancel your membership which is very hard to figure out how to do.
I think Claude is a good guitar player, but a poor teacher and there is nothing in his courses that you can't find for free online. I'm an advanced player and got very little out of his advanced blues course. But most of all I don't like the way he does business and will never buy anything from him again.

Don't Believe This Garbage! This is nothing but hype! He wasn't given a bad rap several years ago. He got what he deserves. He hasn't changed anything. I got took just last month. BUYER BEWARE! before you buy anything from this Master of deception do your research. If you do, You won't get sucked in. There's a lot of good courses out there that give what they claim, Claude Johnson's expensive junk is not one of them.
